Do I really have to define a kind of template even in Controller file in the way the JSON data file is defined. I am not able to get why there is a need of redefining the template of data file.
The other point which I am not able to understand is when I try to get the reference of the ui element in the controller file by using get core.byID method I am not able to access all the methods and operations that I can perform on that UI element.
Well let me clear one thing that I am not looking to make use of any OData services, bu the fact is I already have a data json file in the application folder all I am just looking to access that file and define the binding.
If possible, please clarify the below points
- Why do I have to redefine template in Controller file.
- Once I get the reference of the ui element in the controller file then why am I not able to look or find the possible methods of respective API.
- Do I have to always define the binding between model and View UI elements only in the view file or is it possible to even define the same in the controller file.
